About the CAVEA Theater
Center for Advanced Visualization and Experiential Analysis (CAVEA) showcases an advanced AV/IT-supported event and meeting venue, enriched with production services available to internal and external clients.
The CAVEA Theater can host up to 80 max. capacity in a theater-style arrangement. It boasts 270-degree visual projection, immersive surround-sound audio, 500 square feet of whiteboard, and in addition to the theater, the two adjacent breakout rooms offer the flexibility to expand your event further.
The CAVEA comes fully equipped with expert staff and student assistants who can help perfect your event. Having supported events from keynote and capstone presentations to live stream and multi-point broadcast, the team can assist you from event conception to completion.

Catering your event at the CAVEA theater is very flexible. There are currently no restrictions, other than when serving alcohol (see alcohol policy below), as to who you can choose to cater your event, although we do have some preferred caterers below.
Elevated cuisine/full-service, staffing, and cleanup
Full-service catering manages every facet of an event, including meal preparation, decorations, and clean-up following the event.
These caterers have a distinct familiarity with the Auraria campus and offer formal catering services.

Bring your own
Feel free to bring your own catering, whether it is prepared at home or store bought.
Additionally, this link will provide you some catering options that qualify as preferred vendors on the Auraria campus. AHEC approved caterers.
Alcohol Policy
If you anticipate incorporating alcohol into your event, please note that you will need to make separate arrangements with our campus partner AHEC by first submitting a request for an alcohol permit which also includes the rental of a campus police officer that you will want to factor into your budget.

CAVEA is located in close proximity to various public transportation options on and around the Auraria Campus.
Light Rail and Commuter Rail
Denver’s RTD rail system offers three light rail stations that neighbor CAVEA on the Auraria Campus, as well as commuter rail service to the Denver International Airport.

Bus
RTD provides numerous bus lines that travel to the Auraria Campus, including stops near CAVEA.
Bike and Scooter
Denver’s bike-friendly planning and layout make bicycles and scooters a preferred choice for many travelers, reducing the motorist carbon footprint. Commuters arriving on campus will find bike racks, bike garages, repair stations, and designated moped parking, all closely located to CAVEA.

*Rooms 422 and 424 can be reserved separately or in conjunction with the CAVEA theater. Pricing is fixed, regardless of the use of only one or both breakout rooms.

*A 10% discount is available to business events hosted by MSU Denver Alumni business owners.
Any cancellation or reschedule made less than one week away from your event date will result in a $150 cancellation fee ($50 for MSU Denver clients).
